School Rules ---> Parent School Contact

Parent-Teacher Contact

The school communicates regularly with parents through the school diary. Parents must check the child’s diary every day and if a message is written, parents must acknowledge by signing at the appropriate place in the diary

One day a week/fortnight is designated as Open Day. On this day, teachers stay on for half an hour after school to meet parents.

Parents are expected to attend the end of term Parent Teacher Conference. At this conference they collect report cards and discuss with teachers their child’s progress in the school.
Apart from this, the School Head is scheduled to meet 5-8 parents per week to collect parent feedback. We welcome and value parent’ comments on various aspects of the school. Parents are informed well in advance of the date of meeting.

Parents are also expected to attend any unscheduled interview to which the Head may invite them to discuss issues of mutual concern.

To meet the teachers or the Head or any member of the school staff on any day other than those listed above, parents must make an appointment through the School Admin Office.

Gifts for Staff Members

Parents are not allowed to give any gift or present (in cash or kind) to any member of the school staff: teachers, administrators or non-academic workforce.

Private Tuition

The school discourages private tuition as it creates dependence in pupils and militates against self-study and the habit of working independently

Bloomfield Hall teachers are strictly not allowed to give private tuition to Bloomfield Hall pupils. Parents are therefore requested not to contact teachers regarding private tuition as this may jeopardize a teacher’s employment at the school.

Parents, whose children are having serious difficulty with their studies, should contact the school office. The School Head, after consulting the parent and teacher, may allow private tuition for an agreed period.

Suggestions and Complaints

Parents may meet the teachers to discuss their suggestions/complaints

  • On Open Days which are once a week/fortnight
  • An End of term parent-teacher Conference
  • Half term meeting in the first term as it is the longest term of the year

Alternatively parents may take their suggestion/complaint to the school administrator. The administrator is responsible to do the following:

  • Respond to the suggestion/complaint to clarify the matter Refer the matter to the Subject Head/Section Head or the School Head who will then respond appropriately.
  • Parents are expected to go through the complaints procedure rather than directly intervene. Parents are not allowed to directly confront support staff (e.g. peons/gatekeepers etc) or other pupils or the parents of other pupils.
